David was 26 years old at the time of Kennedy's murder and was working at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Washington, D.C. as the designated "chief of the day." Kennedy's autopsy took place at the hospital on the day of the assassination, Nov. 22, 1963. David, of Hoopeston, spoke for more than an hour and a half to an audience of students and the public on Friday morning at Dr. John D. Stull Performing Arts Centre at Olney Central College about his experiences and the controversies of the case. "I can't tell you what I had for breakfast yesterday, but I can tell you what I did that day (Nov. 22, 1963) from 1 p.m. to 4 a.m. the next morning," he said. He relayed the details of what he saw and how he feels they do not match up to the conclusions of others, including the Warren Commission, which was established by the government in 1964 to investigate the assassination. David maintains that Kennedy's body arrived at the hospital in a grey shipping casket before a bronze casket arrived, which was where the government claimed the body was located. He said his story can be corroborated by many people who were in the same building that day, including one of the pathologists who was involved in the autopsy, Dr. J. Thorton Bozwell. David claims there is evidence that Kennedy's body was tampered with to back up the theory that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in shooting Kennedy from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository.
