A group of about 1,000 people caused a small earthquake on Friday morning that measured 1.2 on the Richter scale...

Want to Cause an Earthquake? Jump Up and Down
(October 2003)

The earthquake occurred after the group of adults and children jumped simultaneously at De Efteling fun park at about 11.30am on Friday. Seismologists with the weather bureau KNMI measured the strength of the quake.

Measuring 1.2 on the Richter scale, the seismologists said the earthquake would have caused "more than a ripple in a lake", Dutch associated press ANP reported.

But the KNMI said they were surprised by the strength of the earthquake because previous experiments with more people had caused smaller tremors...
